Egypt Preparing for Violence in the Streets – Western Media Silent

Category : Equipment, General Info

RECROPPED VERSION Muslim Brotherhood canBorn in Sharqiya on the Nile River delta, in Northern Egypt, on August 20, 1951, Mohamed Morsi became a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in 1977. Morsi served as a Member of Parliament from 2000 to 2005, and was elected as president of Egypt in June 2012. Morsi is the successor of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Hundreds of thousands of Egyptians poured into the streets in the capital and around the country to call on their first freely elected president to resign, in a move that many on both sides of the stark political divide feel could be decisive for Egypt’s future.

Protesters at the presidential palace in the capital chanted “Leave! Leave!” and carried signs against the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist organization of which President Mohamed Morsi is a former leader. They hoped to force Mr. Morsi to leave power just as they toppled former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011.

They say Morsi, who took office one year ago after winning an election by a razor-thin margin, has acted undemocratically and sought to increase his power while failing to solve the mounting crises in Egypt. Many have been pushed to the street by growing anger over electricity cuts, fuel shortages, food price increases, and a lack of security.

Gun Rights Group Loses Challenge to ATF Tracking Near Mexico

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington today rejected arguments from the National Shooting Sports Foundation Inc. and two gun dealers that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ requirement that dealers in four states report multiple sales of semi-automatic rifles violates a ban on creating a national firearm registry.

Lawmakers facing recall bids over strict gun laws in Colorado

Category : General Info

0800A031COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  A Democratic campaign office here usually would be quiet this time of year, a few weeks after the state’s legislature wrapped up work and lawmakers headed off to summer vacations. But even though it’s not an election year, the office is in full campaign mode, with volunteers working the phones and reviewing maps in anticipation of a new front of modern campaigning — the recall phase.

A handful of Democratic state lawmakers in Colorado face recall petition efforts in what looks to be the first wave of fallout over legislative votes to limit gun rights. In an era in which recall efforts are booming, from governor’s offices down to town councils and school boards, the Colorado efforts will serve as the first test of gun-rights groups’ ability to punish elected officials who expanded gun control laws after last year’s Aurora, Colo., and Newtown, Conn., shooting massacres.

In Colorado, gun-rights activists wasted no time seeking recalls to oust state Senate President John Morse and three other Democratic lawmakers. The targeted lawmakers weren’t necessarily the main advocates for ratcheting back gun rights, but all come from districts with enough Republicans to give opponents hope they can boot out the Democrats and replace them with lawmakers friendlier to guns. Colorado is the only state outside the East Coast to have adopted significant statewide gun controls this year.

Food Storage In The Home

Category : Equipment, Food

food-storage-shelves1WHO SHOULD HAVE A FOOD STORAGE PROGRAM?

We never know what emergency may befall us during which we may not be able to obtain food or drink. The emergency may be loss of job or inability to work due to accident or illness. This may result in a situation where financial resources to purchase food would not be available or may be decreased appreciably. Natural catastrophe such as flood, earthquake or storms may result in temporary inability to distribute food to supermarkets. Under these conditions even having money to purchase food does not mean it can be obtained. Even in the United States each of the above conditions occurs occasionally. Because of the possibility of such emergencies the Civil Defense recommends storing food and drink adequate for your family’s needs for a two-week period. Certain church organizations have recommended their members “Have on hand a year’s supply of food, fuel, clothing and where possible money.”

WHY HAVE A FOOD STORAGE PROGRAM?

A food storage program is essential to provide for ourselves and our family members in an emergency. The biggest motivator most adults have is to avoid hearing a hungry child cry. Even the most “macho” man is distraught if he cannot provide food or beverage to prevent a child from suffering.
